Consumer Brands continues to monitor the ever-evolving pandemic. This position will interview, onboard and work remotely for the foreseeable future and will be expected to be regularly available in the DC-Metro area when federal, state and local guidance support a safe return to face-to-face meetings.

The manager, ally membership engages in every aspect of the care and relationship management of ally members and prospects, proactively interacting with leaders at these companies to cultivate, secure and energize support. Reporting to the director membership this person drives the execution of our sponsorship programs from identification to agreement through fulfillment. The manager also plays an active role in identifying new prospects and recruiting new members and sponsors.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Member Engagement

  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with ally members, including scheduling regular touch points, distributing updates and serving as a point of contact.
  • Manage, track and communicate sponsorship and member benefits including monitoring contract terms, overseeing fulfillment logistics, scheduling, invoicing and sending aggregated results.
  • Manage the ally membership lifecycle from onboarding through annual renewal.
  • Coordinate the intake process for new and returning members including tracking recruitment and application status, dues and engagement opportunities.
  • Create annual engagement reports including data aggregation, visibility and reach.
  • Support other membership categories and processes as needed.

Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment

  • In collaboration with director of membership, design and develop sponsorship prospectus for association events, identify and approach potential sponsors and fulfill all benefits.
  • Liaise with sponsors for events and oversee the fulfillment of sponsorship obligations for in-person and virtual events.
  • Coordinate with internal departments on execution of sponsor benefits.
  • Collaborate with the director, membership to develop new revenue streams.

Recruitment Support

  • Manage membership inbox and respond to queries.
  • Conduct initial member prospect calls to introduce Consumer Brands and determine fit of potential member/sponsor.
  • Follow up with member prospects to articulate membership value and work toward securing decision to join.
  • Monitor the industry landscape to identify prospects and potential ally members.
  • Support the development of recruiting plans, including maintaining prospect lists and tracking prospect engagement and progress.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a trade association.
  • Exposure to corporations as customers and stakeholders preferred.
  • Sales experience is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal communications skills, particularly the ability to effectively connect with and persuade individuals and groups.
  • Strong relationship building skills, particularly in a remote environment.
  •  Solid project management skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer relations skills including conflict mitigation, management and negotiation.
  • Quick study, able to learn on the fly the many complexities and nuances of the CPG industry and member priorities.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to work on cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Office 365 Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
