Four Reasons You Must Attend the 2020 Legal Forum

With 2020 just around the corner, GMA is focused on its next chapter, relaunching as the Consumer Brands Association. With our name change comes a focused, proactive agenda that aligns with the totality of the CPG industry, something you’ll undoubtedly see at the 2020 Legal Forum.

I couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming event. Though I am new to this industry and the Legal Forum, I am familiar with its reputation as the premier event for legal professionals in the CPG industry. The 2020 agenda will only enhance that reputation.

Here’s what I’m looking forward to most:

1. Getting practical insights from leading experts.

Legal Forum will feature experts from across the country, exploring topics the industry is facing today and will be contending with tomorrow. With an emphasis on protecting CPG brands from litigation risks and complying with government regulations, you’ll walk away from the event prepared to tackle emerging issues with confidence. Experts will focus on hot-button topics like the California Consumer Privacy Act, Prop 65, antitrust law and false claims. Speakers include CPG leaders and experts from other industries who have faced similar legal challenges and will share lessons learned.

2. Earning up to 12 CLE credits — and an additional two ethics credits at the preconference session.

The Legal Forum is an opportunity to earn up to 12 CLE credits. We’ll kick off the event with a special preconference session, led by Jessica O’Connell, Esq., a partner with Covington & Burling LLP. The two-hour session worth two CLE ethics credits will examine internal investigation, privilege and crisis management and explore recent cases in the CPG space.

3. Connecting with colleagues and getting direct access to experts.

If you’re looking for a chance to connect with your colleagues, this event is the place. Beyond the opportunities to meet at meals and receptions, Legal Forum will feature the first “Ask the Experts” series, giving you face-to-face time with leading attorneys on issues that matter to you.

4. Leaving February’s chill for Palm Springs.

The Legal Forum could be in freezing Duluth, Minnesota, and still be a fantastic conference, but the added benefit of its Palm Springs location is just one more reason it will be time well spent. The Ritz Carlton, Rancho Mirage, has picturesque mountain views and all the amenities to amplify your experience and make learning and networking that much more enjoyable.
