ARLINGTON, Va. — Today, the Consumer Brands Association released the following statement from Geoff Freeman, president and CEO, on the passage of the American Rescue Plan Act:

“We applaud the Biden-Harris administration for putting forth a bold proposal to help American families and small businesses in need.

“The CPG industry is pleased to see that Congress heeded our call to direct funding to important consumer concerns, such as mobile vaccine units, strengthened food supply chains and disinfectants for schools, airports and other public places. These are all essential for keeping the country and manufacturing running and moving toward long-term recovery.

“Our industry’s front-line essential workers have shown up, day after day, to manufacture the essential and life-sustaining products we all need to stay at home, but that can’t be made from home. The American Rescue Plan Act is a tribute to their heroic efforts over the past year. Today, we are encouraged to see that the federal government is investing in the right areas to get the country back on track.”
