In Case You Missed It: SmartLabel in USA Today’s Grocery Special Edition

Consumer Brands’ SmartLabel was featured in USA Today’s Grocery Special Edition and included a Q&A with Rishi Banerjee, Senior Director, SmartLabel, in which he talked about how consumers are engaging with and using SmartLabel, an industry-backed digital disclosure tool that puts all the information consumers could need about the products they’re purchasing at their fingertips — from ingredients to allergen information to recycling instructions and more.

“The most important benefit to brands using SmartLabel is the ability to communicate directly to consumers with the information consumers want and need to make informed purchasing decision in real-time.

For example, brands can use SmartLabel to immediately notify consumers about product recalls and provide rich details like the nature of the recall, which products are affected and even where to find the lot code on the packaging label.”

“Industry trust and loyalty has become a trending topic in recent months. More than 80 percent of consumers said they will be more loyal to brands that provide more detailed product information.”
