Consumer Brands Association Releases Seven-Figure Ad Highlighting the CPG Industry’s Commitment to American Jobs & Consumers

Ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary, new ad features workers from America’s trusted household brands

Arlington, Va. — In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the Consumer Brands Association announced a new seven-figure ad today that highlights the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry’s commitment to supporting American consumers, workers and the economy. The new ad features American workers who make the food, beverage, household and personal care products that families across the country rely on. It will run in Washington, D.C. and 12 select state markets on TV and digital channels.

“As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation, Consumer Brands is proud to spotlight how our country’s iconic brands support 22.3 million good-paying jobs for Americans, contribute to the economy, and deliver safe, affordable, and convenient products to U.S. consumers,” said Melissa Hockstad, President and CEO of Consumer Brands. “From the farmers growing the crops, to the product safety and quality scientists testing products, to the truckers delivering them to retailers, the CPG industry plays a crucial role in communities and is embedded in the fabric of American life.”

The new ad builds on the successful launch of Consumer Brands’ new campaign that puts transparency, safety and the consumer front and center. It emphasizes the industry’s commitment to providing a wide variety of choices and access to information, through      industry-led initiatives such as SmartLabel® and Facts Up Front. The campaign began last December with the first-ever National Consumer Transparency Week, along with the “Grow Your Own” ad and the Truth About Ingredients website.

“The CPG industry is proud of its roots right here in the United States,” added Hockstad. “We’ve always been America-first, and that’s why the CPG industry remains the No. 1 domestic manufacturing sector by workforce, supporting more than 10.5% of the nation’s total employment. And every year, we contribute more than $2.5 trillion to U.S. GDP.”

In the year ahead, the industry will continue to showcase how the makers of America’s favorite household brands remain dedicated to ensuring the safety, affordability and convenience of products that families use every day. One of the primary ways the industry is leading on these issues is by supporting historic legislation to establish a uniform national standard for ingredient safety and transparency that will benefit all consumers.
