Mark Smucker of The J.M. Smucker Co. Announced as Chair of Consumer Brands Board

Arlington, Va. — October 16, 2025 — The Consumer Brands Association announced today that Mark Smucker, CEO and chair of the board of The J.M. Smucker Co., will serve as chair of the Consumer Brands Association Board of Directors, effective January 1.

“With a proven track record of driving consumer-centric innovation and a deep passion for the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, Mark is well-positioned to serve as our next board chair,” said Melissa Hockstad, president and CEO of Consumer Brands. “As the fifth-generation member of his family to lead the iconic company, Mark has demonstrated his ability to navigate rapidly changing environments, meet evolving consumer preferences and further grow a portfolio of brands that Americans love and trust. I look forward to working with Mark as we look to build on the incredible success happening at Consumer Brands and steer our industry forward.”

Smucker has served as CEO of The J.M. Smucker Co. since 2016. Prior to being named CEO, he held leadership roles ​​across​​​​ the company’s major businesses, including serving as president of two of its largest divisions, Consumer & Natural Foods and Coffee. Under Smucker’s leadership, ​​​the company has strengthened its​​​​ position as a leading manufacturer of beloved products while expanding its role as a world-class marketer of popular brands.

Smucker has served on the Consumer Brands Board since 2016, and as vice chair since 2024. He will succeed Linda Rendle, chair and CEO of The Clorox Company, who will serve as vice chair of the Board.
