Michelle Wright

Michelle Wright Consulting, LLC

Michelle Wright is an independent consultant working in the food regulatory and labeling space. She has worked extensively with USDA and FDA on product labeling, nutrition issues and claims. Recently, she has trained companies both large and small on the 2016 nutrition labeling changes. Some of her accomplishments include deciphering Kosher programs, educating companies on import and export procedures, implementing an import system for plants in both Mexico and Canada, developing a policies and procedures management system and creating response letters for both suppliers and customers. She has also conducted extensive work on child nutrition labeling and the required partial quality control (PQC) program development for numerous plants and products. When she is not consulting, she is a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University where she teaches the Food Labeling and Packaging Regulations and the International Food Regulations classes. Michelle has a master’s degree in family and consumer sciences and a bachelor’s degree in consumer food science, both from Iowa State University.

Kristen Scott, M.S., RD.

Kristen Scott assists with the development and implementation of the Consumer Brands Association’s positions on health and nutrition policy. She joined the association in March of 2013. Kristen previously worked as a registered dietitian in a variety of settings, most recently working as a public health nutritionist at the Ohio Department of Health.

Kristen received her bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from Saint Louis University and her master’s degree in clinical nutrition from The Ohio State University.
