Proud of Our Industry’s Workforce and Dedication to America – Today and Every Day
Throughout our nation’s 250-year history, America has stood as a leader in innovation, ingenuity and excellence. From the assembly line to personal computers, from microwaves to blue jeans, American creativity has consistently produced breakthroughs that improve everyday life and strengthen our economy.
That same spirit of American innovation is reflected in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry — the iconic food, beverage, home and personal care brands that Americans rely on every single day. Walk down any grocery aisle and you will see the remarkable variety of products designed to meet evolving consumer needs, whether through new ingredients, improved packaging, clearer labeling or greater convenience. The CPG industry has a proud tradition of adapting, innovating and delivering affordable and convenient products for families across the country, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, value and trust.
CPG products make modern life possible — helping families feed their loved ones, care for their homes and support busier lifestyles than generations before. Few industries are as closely connected to the daily lives of consumers, and none play a greater role in ensuring Americans have access to essential goods.
Behind every product on the shelf is a vast network of hardworking Americans who make this excellence possible. From farmers and suppliers to scientists, engineers, factory workers and truck drivers, the CPG industry supports jobs at every stage of the supply chain. In fact, the industry supports 22.3 million American jobs — a powerful testament to its role as an engine of opportunity and economic growth.
As the nation’s largest domestic manufacturer by workforce, the CPG industry is deeply rooted in American communities. Nearly 90 percent of the raw ingredients used in these products come from American farms and suppliers, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to investing in U.S. workers and strengthening domestic production.
In my role, I have the privilege of traveling across the country and meeting the people who power this industry — from generational family-owned businesses to innovative new brands to companies that have served American consumers for more than a century. Everywhere I go, I see the same dedication to excellence, safety and transparency. These workers do more than produce household essentials; they provide peace of mind to millions of Americans through their commitment to quality and reliability.
As we celebrate 250 years of American achievement, Consumer Brands is proud to spotlight the CPG industry’s enduring contributions to innovation, economic strength, and the millions of jobs that support communities nationwide.
