Joe Wheatley serves as a Senior Corporate Counsel in Amazon’s Counterfeit Crimes Unit in Arlington, VA.  He came to Amazon from the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as a prosecutor for almost sixteen years.  His cases included Darknet marketplaces selling contraband, Russian organized crime, La Cosa Nostra, and the Vice Lords.  In his last role at DOJ, he served in the Office of the Attorney General as a Deputy Director of Joint Task Force Vulcan, a whole-of-government initiative targeting the MS-13 transnational criminal organization.
