Digital commerce grew exponentially during the COVID-19 pandemic and is predicted to remain at elevated levels. As a result, many CPG companies are adapting their digital go-to-market strategies to more scalable and cost-effective models. CPG companies are also recognizing that digital market share is more volatile than traditional market share — due in part to curbside pickup and local delivery options — and need to ensure their omnichannel approaches are designed accordingly.
Jeriad Zoghby and Matt Campbell, managing directors at Accenture, discussed challenges related to scaling digital commerce, owning the digital shelf and the need for a more systematic solution to customer management. They also shared recommendations to address these challenges that lead to more flexible and responsive supply chains and meet consumer needs.
