McCain Foods, the world’s largest frozen potato product manufacturer, opened a new plant in Burley as part of a $200 million expansion. The innovative facility adds both automated machines and 180 new jobs that will help the company continue to produce 4.7 million daily pounds of frozen French fries, potato side dishes, appetizers and more.
McCain Foods has operated in Burley for more than 20 years and employs 736 people in the area. City officials expect the plant to stimulate economic activity across the area and offer more opportunities for Idaho potato famers.
“An expansion of this magnitude secures a lot of jobs and offers stability to the community,” said Penne Main, president and CEO of the Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce.
