3M invests $33 million in Minnesota STEM educational programs

3M Co. has long been committed to providing STEM education for students in Minnesota, investing $33 million in 2018 alone. Through K-12 programs, professional development classes, educational grants and more, the company works with students and teachers around the globe to cultivate the next generation of thinkers and creators in STEM.

3M and HandsOn Twin Cities, a local volunteer center, recently partnered together to teach Minnesota students about careers in STEM at 3M’s Innovation Center. Fifty students had the opportunity to learn about careers at 3M through science classes, tours and activities at the company’s St. Paul headquarters.

“There’s a lot of opportunity in STEM for careers here at 3M, but also in other companies around the world, and that’s pretty powerful stuff,” said Michael Stroik, director of 3Mgives.
